What is the trans-Tasman bubble?
Australia and New Zealand are establishing quarantine-free travel across the Tasman Sea, following Taiwan and Palau as only the second travel bubble to open between countries dedicated to stopping the spread of COVID-19. Travellers between Australia and New Zealand can fly back and forth without isolating, and will not interact with travellers from other countries. You will be required to wear a mask but you will not be required to test negative for COVID-19 before your departure.
What if there is a COVID-19 outbreak?
Governments are recommending consumers to beware – there is the risk that travellers can get stuck in lockdowns on the wrong side of the ditch, and that is part of the risk. No matter what happens, it’s on you to manage the costs or arrangements required to get you home again!

Check out your website, Google listing, and Facebook page and make sure your details (like phone numbers, opening hours, availabilities) are correct and up to date. Write engaging blogs and share updates on social media so people know that you’re raring to go. And lastly – try to relax. This is uncharted territory for thousands of operators and holiday-makers, so it may not go perfectly to plan all the time.
